Alongwith the business analysts I hosted workshops with the skateholders to discover the problems currently being faced.
Stakeholders demonstrated how they were currently using the system and how it was not doing the job. Stakeholders had to save some of the information on separate excel sheets and word documents as the current system did not have the correct functionality.
As a UX/UI Specialist my role was to research the best solution for the development of new EMS application.
My main tasks included project research, stakeholder management, user interface design, prototyping, user testing, hand over to the development team and negotiation with all the stakeholders.
I started with pen and paper and ended up with a high fidelity user interface. I used Figma for UI and prototyping. The working prototypes were good enough for the user testing.
After further refining we had our solution. The development team took over the design.
I worked side by side with the development, QA and UAT teams to ensure the best user experience is delivered.
EMS project was divided into seven modules (areas). The development of all the modules is going to take 10 months. As on late July 2019, two of the seven modules have been developed and launched while the third one is in production.
The business found the solution very intuitive and easy to use.
